Terms of Service
These terms are a working draft to be reviewed and finalised by the founder and a qualified solicitor before launch. They are not legal advice. Sections marked need professional sign-off — in particular the dispute-resolution approach and the limits of liability.
SERIS IS EDUCATIONAL SOFTWARE. IT IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE. Nothing in Seris is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset. Trading involves risk, including the loss of your capital. You are solely responsible for your own decisions.
1. What Seris is
Seris is a set of educational trading tools, learning material and market information — a study terminal, not a brokerage or an advisory service. By creating an account or using Seris you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
2. Not financial advice
Seris does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing in it should be read as a personal recommendation. The tools, lessons, briefs, data and any AI-generated commentary are for education and information only. We are not authorised to give regulated financial advice, and we don’t.
No performance promises. In keeping with our principle — no prophecy, no promises, proof — we do not promise profits, returns, or any particular result. Past performance, worked examples and back-tests never guarantee future outcomes. Any decision you make is your own.
AI-generated content. Some of what Seris shows — the daily brief, market reads, and AI “takes” and analysis — is generated automatically using artificial intelligence (the Claude models from Anthropic). This output can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, is produced without human review of each item, and is educational information only, never advice. You must not rely on it as the sole basis for any decision, and you use it at your own risk. How we handle AI and what we do (and don’t) send to the AI provider is described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 to use Seris.
- Give accurate account information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your login secure — you’re responsible for activity under your account.
- One account is for one person; don’t share access or resell it.
4. Acceptable use
Please use Seris lawfully and fairly. You agree not to:
- Break the law, infringe others’ rights, or misuse the service;
- Copy, scrape, resell or redistribute Seris content or tools without permission;
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service;
- Present Seris output to others as financial advice or a signal service.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
5. Subscriptions & billing
Seris offers a free tier and a paid Pro plan. Pro is £19 per month or £149 per year. Payments are handled securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
Pro starts with a 7-day free trial — no card to start — and you can cancel any time. After the trial, the plan renews automatically each period (monthly or yearly) until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. You can cancel from your account or through the Stripe billing portal (see the FAQ for steps). Prices are in GBP; we’ll give reasonable notice of any price change.
6. Refunds
If Seris isn’t right for you, we’ll make it right — email support@serisx.com and we honour reasonable refund requests. Your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law are unaffected.
7. Intellectual property
Seris, its content, design and tools belong to Serisx Ltd (or its licensors). We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Seris for your own learning while your account is active. Anything you create and store (like your journal entries) remains yours.
8. Third-party services & data
Seris shows market data and can embed third-party content such as official YouTube live streams. We don’t control that content or those services, can’t guarantee it’s always accurate or available, and your use of it may be subject to the third party’s own terms.
9. User content
Some features let users submit content — for example verified-trader listings and profiles, and anything else you post or link to (“user content”).
- You own it; you license us. You keep ownership of your user content. By submitting it you grant Serisx Ltd a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute it on and through Seris for the purpose of operating and promoting the service.
- Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for your user content and confirm you have the right to post it, that it is accurate and lawful, and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or mislead. Do not post anyone else’s data, false performance claims, or unlawful, abusive or misleading material.
- No endorsement. User content — including any trader listing, record or result — is the user’s own and is not verified, endorsed, or recommended by Seris unless we expressly say so, and even then it is not a recommendation to follow anyone. Do your own due diligence.
- No liability for user content. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Serisx Ltd is not responsible or liable for user content or for anything that happens as a result of it.
- Report & takedown. If you believe user content is inaccurate, infringing, or otherwise breaches these terms, please report it to support@serisx.com. We may remove, edit, or refuse any user content, and suspend accounts, at our discretion — particularly where content is reported, misleading, or unlawful. (Pairs with the in-product report/moderation feature, which is a separate deferred build.)
10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
Seris is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it accurate and running, but we don’t warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information (including AI-generated content) is complete or timely.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, and given that Seris is an educational service, Serisx Ltd is not liable for any trading or investment losses, or for any indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of Seris. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
11. Termination
You can stop using Seris and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you materially breach these terms or where we’re required to by law.
12. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live (for example, an EU consumer may be able to bring proceedings in their home country).
Resolving a dispute. If something goes wrong, please contact us first at support@serisx.com — we’ll try to resolve it informally and quickly. If we can’t, the dispute may be taken to the courts of England and Wales.
Note for the solicitor — arbitration. Unlike a US-style consumer contract, a binding arbitration / class-action-waiver clause is not a natural fit here: under UK and EU consumer law, pre-dispute clauses that require a consumer to arbitrate can be treated as unfair and non-binding on the consumer, and consumers retain the right to go to court. This draft therefore keeps disputes in the courts of England and Wales (with optional informal resolution first) rather than imposing binding arbitration. The founder’s solicitor should confirm whether court, an optional ADR / ombudsman scheme, or arbitration is appropriate for this business, and whether any sector rules apply.
13. Changes
We may update these terms as Seris develops. Material changes will be reflected in the date above and, where appropriate, notified to you. Continuing to use Seris after a change means you accept the updated terms.
